Our client is an established and respected manufacturer who operates a friendly team of engineers and has an opportunity to work in a permanent contract as a CNC Turner or Manual Machinist where you will manage your own workload with jobs allocated from the engineering supervisor.
Responsibilities:
CNC Turning Manual Turning Machining precision parts and components Producing one offs and small batches Reading engineering drawings Working to non-aerospace tolerances Installing programs including keying from a drawing and downloading from databases, setting and operating as required Selecting appropriate materials for each job as described in the drawings Self inspecting components and reporting any manufacturing errors to line manager so corrective action can be agreed
The successful candidate is likely to have served an engineering apprenticeship as a skilled CNC Turner or Manual Machinist. However, candidates who are time-served in machining could also be suitable if they can demonstrate a suitable track record in CNC turning and manual machining. Work is not for the aerospace industry, so tolerances are not quite as demanding as this sector.
This would be the ideal role for someone who has worked as a CNC Turner or Manual Machinist with experience in any of the following controls: Heidenhain, Siemens, Fanuc, Mazak.
