Key Responsibilities
Programming and Setup:
Develop and input CNC programs based on engineering drawings and specifications; set up CNC lathes for production runs. Operation:
Operate CNC turning machines to manufacture components, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. Quality Control:
Perform inspections using precision measuring instruments to verify that components meet required tolerances and specifications. Maintenance:
Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshooting:
Identify and resolve issues related to machine operation, tooling, or programming to minimize downtime. Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of production activities, including setup sheets, inspection reports, and machine maintenance logs.
Qualifications and Skills
Experience:
Proven experience as a CNC Turner or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment. Technical Proficiency:
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications; proficiency with CNC programming and operation. Precision Measurement:
Skilled in using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Problem-Solving:
Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues effectively. Attention to Detail:
Commitment to producing high-quality components with precise specifications. Communication:
Effective verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with team members and reporting. Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in CNC machining is preferred.
