CNS Epilepsy Specialist

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic nurse who is passionate about providing excellent care and services for people who live with Epilepsy.

You will have significant post-registration experience, knowledge of Epilepsy and seizures, as well as a willingness to learn and a positive 'can do attitude.' Working within a multi-professional environment, the role will challenge you to push forward, be an innovator in your field, and act as a role model for standards of care through clinical practice.

Main duties of the job

You will be the professional clinical link between all areas of care for individuals with Epilepsy and provide care and support for patients from diagnosis through to ongoing treatment and care. This will involve outpatient, inpatient, and First Fit clinic reviews. You will provide excellent teaching experience and the chance to contribute to local clinical networks. As a Trust, we are committed to the development of our staff and will offer you thorough training and support.

Dedicated Epilepsy experience is preferred, but candidates willing to evolve their skills will be considered.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Registered Nurse Advanced communication skills/counselling qualification or willingness to undertake. Post-registration qualification in specialty.

Desirable

Masters Degree.

Experience

Essential

Significant relevant experience in the Specialty and ability to demonstrate expert nursing skills. Experience of formal/informal teaching. Experience of initiating change.

Other Skills

Essential

Good verbal and written communication. Capable of working as an integral member of a small team. Leadership Skills. Ability to work unsupervised and manage workload effectively.

Desirable

Advanced Communication Skills.
