The Derbyshire Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)/ME Service has an exciting opportunity for a band 7 Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to join our existing multidisciplinary team of Occupational therapists, Physiotherapists, Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and Consultants in Rehabilitation Medicine. Following NICE guidelines, we provide multi-disciplinary specialist assessment and interventions for adults aged 16 and over with CFS/ME, and also for people with post covid fatigue. We are located in Specialist Rehabilitation at Florence Nightingale Community Hospital and work closely with other Rehabilitation services within the department. We take a holistic, collaborative approach, putting the person at the centre of treatment, to help them manage symptoms more effectively, working with them towards achieving their goals. The post-holder will provide cognitive behavioural therapy specialist assessment, advice, and treatment interventions for people with chronic fatigue syndrome/ME. Treatment is provided within primary and secondary care and social settings, in individual and group interventions and over the telephone. The role includes supervision and teaching, advice, and support for the Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME Service multidisciplinary team. Liaison with other health care professionals is an essential part of this role. The post-holder will meet Trust and national targets and standards. About us

Education and Qualifications

Post graduate diploma or MSc in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (BABCP) Core professional qualification e.g., nursing or therapist Experience and Knowledge

Post reg clinical experience in delivering evidence-based psychological therapies, working as part of MDT Specialist knowledge of chronic fatigue syndrome/ME or long term conditions Evidence of working as part of an MDT Skills and Ability

Able to take responsibility for planning and organising CBT within a team Evidence of planning and prioritising workload and working autonomously Evidence of supervising and teaching staff and carrying out appraisals Communication

Communicate with patients and staff effectively Values and Behaviours

Genuine interest in working with patients who have CFS/ME, enthusiasm for the role Demonstrates initiative, work flexibly Excellent communication skills and able to react calmly in stressful situations Disclosure and Barring Service Check
