Elevation are delighted to be working with this fast-growing organisation that offer specialist services to the Railway industry.


The Commercial and Bid Manager is responsible for all day to day aspects of the companies bidding activities and commercial function. Co-ordinating key activities in line with the companies growth strategy to ensure sustainable and profitable opportunities are secured.


Key Responsibilities:


Commercial Strategy Develop and implement comprehensive commercial & bidding strategies and processes aligned with the company values to maximise success rates and achieve business objectives.

Bid Management Lead and manage the entire bid lifecycle, including analysing requirements, coordinating bid teams, and ensuring timely submission of high-quality tailored proposals that effectively address client needs and differentiate our offerings in the marketplace.

Financial Management Develop and complete all costing and pricing models. Develop budgets and EAC’s for each bid and support the wider team in monitoring performance during delivery.

Contract Negotiation Negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients to secure fair and profitable agreements while mitigating risks and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements

Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and subcontractors to enhance bidding opportunities and drive business sustainable and profitable growth.


Person Requirements:


  • Proven experience in commercial management, bid management, and related roles within the Rail Sector
  • Excellent understanding of commercial principles, contract management, and bid processes.
  • Accomplished communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and internal stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent project management abilities, including the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of developing and implementing successful commercial strategies. Able to work on own initiative with a good level of resourcefulness.
  • High- level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and bid management software.
  • Certification in commercial management, project management, or related fields is desirable
