Join a team where your expertise makes a real difference! We are seeking a dynamic Commercial Buyer to join a leading defence and aerospace manufacturer in Gloucestershire. You will play a pivotal role within the procurement team, working independently to manage purchasing activities and support the Head of Procurement in achieving the company’s strategic goals. The Role The commercial buyer will ensure effective supply chain management and contribute to cost savings and operational efficiency across a mix of Direct and Indirect spend of circa £12M p.a. You will independently source, negotiate, and procure materials, components, and services to meet business needs while developing and maintaining supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery, quality, and cost-effectiveness across the facility. The Person The Commercial Buyer role will require a skilled Manufacturing or Engineering based professional with experience in sourcing, negotiating, and supplier management who is capable of handling end-to-end procurement processes. As one of their key Procurement professionals, you will have strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favourable terms and conditions while being capable of handling multiple priorities at the same time. An analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and problem-solving as well as strong communication skills, both written and verbal will be key, as well as the ability to build relationships at all levels. Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and the Microsoft Office suite will be highly advantageous in this role.
