We are looking to expand our Supply Chain department by adding a proactive Commercial Contracts and Procurement Manager to manage the performance of suppliers and partners. This is a brand new role to ensure that all commercial aspects are managed effectively, both in terms of suppliers delivering value-for money services as well overseeing all contractual and commercial aspects.
What you’ll be doing as our Commercial Contracts and Procurement Manager:
Preparation and execution of subcontracts, either with existing partners or as a result of running tendering activities
Ensure that contracts are consistent with UK law and can legally be enforced
During the contract negotiation process ensure risks are minimised or fully understood prior to agreement
Ensure authorisation of contracts in line with Rittal competence guidelines
Review the contracts with the appropriate internal stakeholder to ensure the goods or services supplied are within the terms of the contract
Where necessary have contract reviews with the supplier
For direct materials work with the appropriate buyer to agree the terms of the framework contract. Use the defined template including terms of warranty and liability and the stocking/inventory liabilities at suppliers
Develop and nurture strong supplier relationships with suppliers within the UK, Europe and the rest of the world
Identify and mitigate commercial and business risks relating to the suppliers which you are responsible for
Develop the Supplier Management Policy and the Due Diligence framework and be responsible for embedding its use across the business
Source and secure supply contingency based on risk
The Skills, Knowledge and Experience you will need as our Commercial Contracts and Procurement Manager:
Demonstrable experience of the sourcing process. Good technical purchasing knowledge
Demonstrable examples of project savings delivery including negotiated benefit and value chain engineering / business process improvement / total cost of ownership / should-cost / single source models
Stakeholder engagement at senior level and project delivery. Ability to lead cross-functional projects
Commercial contract experience and experience of contract review and renewal
Experience of developing and implementing new processes e.g. supplier catalogue, spend cube, contract database, vendor performance management, procurement dashboard systems
Experience working with Legal around contract negotiation / signature and subsequent implementation and management of high value / high risk vendors during the life of a contract
Experience and understanding of guiding, motivating, mentoring and developing staff members within the department.
Need to have:
Bachelor's degree in business, law, management, economics
Manufacturing experience – preferably automotive
Minimum CIPS 4
Commercial law
Buying/procurement
Preparing for negotiation
Verbal and written communication
Ability to work and prioritise
Commercial Contract Management
Nice to have:
Proficient user of MS Word, Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint.
SAP MRP/ERP Experience
Good knowledge of English Commercial Law
