Our Manchester-based client, a leading IT company, is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Commercial Counsel to join their dynamic in-house legal team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled commercial lawyer to contribute significantly to the growth and success of their innovative technology business. As a Senior Commercial Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in shaping their commercial strategy and mitigating legal risks. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of complex legal matters. You will draft, review, and negotiate a diverse range of commercial contracts, such as software licensing agreements, services agreements, and procurement contracts. You will also provide strategic legal advice to key business stakeholders, including sales, product development, and operations teams. You will collaborate closely with external counsel to manage complex legal issues and litigation matters. You will conduct thorough legal research and analysis to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. You will identify and mitigate potential legal risks associated with new business initiatives. To be successful in this role, you will need a minimum of four years of post-qualification experience in commercial law, preferably gained within an in-house legal team at a technology company. You will have a strong understanding of commercial law principles, including contract law, intellectual property law, and data privacy law. You will possess excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills, with a keen eye for detail and a pragmatic approach. You will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and provide practical legal advice. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and clients. You will have a proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
