Position Summary As a Commercial & Customer Manager at Parker-Meggitt, you will play a pivotal role in the successful planning, execution, and oversight of commercial initiatives and new projects within the business, reporting directly to the Director of Programme Management. The Commercial & Customer Manager will own the customer relationship through the full life cycle, including product under new and existing contracts. In doing this, they will act as the Voice of the Customer within the business to encourage collaboration between departments, sharing insights across the organization to grow a customer-centric culture. Responsibilities Manage portfolio scope against contract term, ensuring contracted deliverables and commitments are understood and communicated through the organization. Coordinate solutions to contractual issues and customer concerns related to company performance. Support contract negotiations and lead scope changes post-contract award, including revised pricing structures for expiring long-term contracts and annual price lists. Analyze an existing product portfolio ensuring continued financial health while strategically identifying opportunities to improve profitability and growth. Manage assigned programmes through their lifecycle against the Parker Meggitt Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) gate process. Provide senior-level leadership, oversight, and control on cost, schedule, and performance of the contracts while supporting the project management team to successful execution of the project deliverables and business case. Deliver the business and customer strategic goals, with a key focus on long-term vision and benefits, resulting in business case optimization. Increase revenue through further business opportunities and new innovative manufacturing technology projects by collaborating with the Engineering and Business Development teams. Support the preparation of proposals, business plans, work statements and specifications, operating budgets and sessions with customers to discuss cost, schedule requirements to achieve sales and profit goals. Direct the work of employees assigned to programmes/portfolios from technical, manufacturing, and support functions and supervise project managers throughout the process. Present customer portfolio status to customer and internal senior-level management as required, ensuring that the business leadership team is aware of actions required to achieve the desired deliverables. Be the primary interface with customers and provide unfiltered Voice of Customer feedback to the business, while also having the necessary insight and internal awareness to bring a balanced view. Qualifications The successful candidate must have a broad understanding of business, commercial, engineering, and operations management. The position demands strong leadership, project management, and communication skills to drive cross-functional teams, requiring the ability to influence in situations where they might not have full authority. Highly developed management skills in planning, analyzing, organizing, evaluating, and leading are critical to be successful in this position. Strategic thinking capabilities along with the ability to interface with cross-functional disciplines in a multi-divisional and matrix environment. Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to enable excellent customer service. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence while exercising sensitivity to the audience. Most essentially, the Commercial & Customer Manager must have the ability to make sense of complex situations, establish a clear way forward, and guide the team to success.
