About The Role Tilia Homes have an exciting opportunity for a

Commercial Director

to join our Eastern team working for Tilia Homes, based from our office in Bedford on a permanent basis.

It’s a fantastic time to join a successful team that have a sense of community and a positive environment. The region is operational on over 10 sites with more launching in the next 18 months and are set to build 400 units this year. Sites are diverse in size and nature across Herts, Beds, Oxon and Norfolk.

This Senior post will lead an established Commercial team of Quantity Surveyors, Buyers and Trainees. This post is responsible for the overall management and performance of the Commercial function in our Eastern Region.

Duties include:

Monitoring business costs, ensuring accuracy of cost reports and analysing variances, seeking opportunity to mitigate cost increases through innovation and alternative strategies.

Attending internal adjudications and reviews to ensure cost issues are properly processed.

Manage cost information including tracking of inflation on pipeline developments.

Provide a Commercial overview of all land and build cost estimates including cost benchmarks.

Driving down build costs without compromising quality and safety.

Preparation of monthly Commercial board reports.

Managing the surveying and buying function.

Work closely with the Senior Management Team to ensure a flow of new sites into the business.

Promote a customer responsible ethic within the supply chain.

About You

Experience in a Commercial Director post, within housebuilding.

Leading a team with credibility.

A people focused management style.

Able to work with autonomy.

Successfully contributing to, and meeting a strategic vision.
