The JANS Group is seeking an experienced and visionary

Commercial Director

to lead the strategic and commercial operations of our ETRUX Business, a pioneer in electric & ICE commercial vehicle conversions. The Commercial Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the division’s future through meticulous management of tendering processes, building and nurturing key OEM relationships, and driving sustainable business growth. The role is focused on ensuring the business’ market leadership and profitability while aligning with the division's overall objectives.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership

Develop and execute the division’s commercial strategy in alignment with JANS Group’s overall objectives.

Identify and pursue new market opportunities, product ranges, partnerships, and revenue streams.

Provide strategic insights to support executive decision-making and long-term planning.

Tendering and Contract Management

Oversee and manage the end-to-end tendering process, ensuring competitive and compliant submissions.

Evaluate tender opportunities, lead bid strategies, and drive successful outcomes.

Negotiate and secure contracts with key clients and suppliers to maximise profitability.

OEM Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with OEM partners and industry stakeholders.

Act as the primary liaison for major clients, ensuring alignment with their requirements and expectations.

Develop joint strategies with OEMs to support innovation and market expansion.

Operational and Financial Management

Assist with management of budget planning, revenue forecasting, and financial performance of the division.

Monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform pricing and product strategies.

Implement and manage KPIs to evaluate business performance and ensure continuous improvement.

Team Collaboration

Collaborate with field sales teams to align commercial objectives and strategies.

Work closely with engineering, operations, and marketing teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.

Promote cross-functional collaboration to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Compliance and Sustainability

Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies.

Champion sustainable practices, particularly in the transition to electric vehicles.

Person Specification Essential Criteria

Proven track record in a senior commercial leadership role within a related industry (e.g., automotive, electric vehicles).

Deep understanding of the commercial vehicle sector and/or its supply chain.

Extensive experience in tendering and contract management.

Demonstrated ability to manage and grow key OEM relationships.

Strong business acumen with the ability to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.

Results-driven with a focus on delivering financial growth and operational excellence.

Proficient in financial analysis, budgeting, and strategic planning.

Desirable Criteria

Experience in electric vehicle technology or sustainable transport solutions.

Knowledge of composites manufacturing processes and applications.

Professional qualifications in management or leadership.
