I'm working with a small design and build fit-out contractor that specialises in creating bespoke, high-quality spaces for clients in the workspace, hospitality, and retail sectors. Having been trading for nearly 10 years, my client achieved a turnover of £8m last year.
About the Role:
As Commercial Director, you will be responsible for leading all commercial activities, including contract negotiation, cost management, and financial reporting. You will oversee project budgets, ensuring profitability and compliance with contractual obligations. Working closely with clients, suppliers, and internal teams, you will manage risk, optimise procurement strategies, and ensure project delivery meets financial targets. Your role is key to driving commercial strategy, improving margins, and ensuring successful outcomes across multiple projects, while maintaining high standards of client satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Requirements:
Proven experience as a Commercial Director or in a senior commercial role within the construction or fit-out industry
Strong knowledge of contract management, negotiation, and cost control
Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets and ensure profitability
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams
In-depth understanding of industry regulations, compliance, and risk management
Strategic mindset with a focus on driving commercial growth and improving margins
