Commercial Director Your new company You will be joining an established multi-sector contractor working on infrastructure schemes for various high-profile clients. Due to continued success, they are looking to onboard a Commercial Director to their team. Your new role As Commercial Director, you will play a pivotal role in the construction industry by overseeing financial management, contract negotiation, risk assessment, and strategic planning for civil engineering projects. You will be responsible for, but not limited to, developing and managing project budgets, controlling costs, and preparing financial reports. Additionally, you will negotiate contracts, ensuring compliance and resolving disputes. Risk management is a key aspect of your new role, involving the identification and mitigation of potential risks to ensure project continuity. You will also analyse market trends to inform strategic decisions and pursue new business opportunities. By monitoring project progress and maintaining quality control, you will ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, ultimately driving the success and profitability of the organisation. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you should hold a degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management. Experience in a Commercial Management position, preferably at a senior level, is essential. A strong understanding of NEC Contracts is required, and having MRICS certification is highly desirable. These qualifications and experience are key to excelling in this position.
