Commercial IT Associate (5+ PQE)

to join the renowned IT practice of a leading law firm. This role sits within the

Commercial IP/IT/Data Privacy

team and focuses on leading high-profile transactions for clients across sectors such as technology, life sciences, financial services, media, and more. This is a unique chance to work on cutting-edge technology contracts, IT outsourcing, and digital transformation projects while advising on emerging technologies and complex regulatory frameworks. The successful candidate will take a lead role in transactions, build client relationships, and contribute to business development initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Advise clients on technology contracts, including software development, licensing, systems integration, and hardware supply agreements. Lead on IT outsourcing and business process outsourcing projects. Support clients with digital transformation initiatives, including cloud computing, AI, blockchain, and cybersecurity projects. Provide advice on emerging technologies and their related regulations, particularly in areas like AI, distributed ledger technology, and open-source software. Act as a trusted legal advisor to clients in key sectors, including technology, life sciences, and financial services. Collaborate with other teams across the firm to deliver comprehensive solutions for clients. Contribute to business development, including attending industry events and preparing client pitches. Key Requirements: Qualified lawyer with

5+ years’ PQE , with a strong focus on Commercial IT or technology transactions. Demonstrable experience advising on IT contracts, outsourcing, and emerging technologies. A genuine interest in the technology sector and a proactive approach to staying ahead of industry trends. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Commercial awareness and the ability to manage client relationships effectively. A collaborative mindset with the ambition to grow within a leading IT practice.
