Overview: In this role you will be responsible for the commercial success of our client, a microbiome testing start-up based in London. This will involve building and leading a team of salespeople to drive revenue. You will contribute to setting a commercial and sales strategy, generate leads, build client relationships, set targets to meet or exceed revenue forecasts, and ultimately meet customer needs. We're looking for a quick learner who is confident and has strong negotiating skills — someone with a successful track record who can inspire the same performance in others.

Responsibilities: Represent the company effectively with comprehensive knowledge of the product portfolio. Generate new business and establish and nurture client relationships. Achieve and hopefully outperform the revenue targets set by the Board. Monitor and report relevant KPIs on a weekly basis including weekly sales reports and provide insights on what works and where improvements are necessary. Actively participate in defining and executing the company's commercial strategy to increase market share in the UK and EU through microbiome testing product and service sales. Analyse and feedback on sales strategy, performance data, and sales forecasts. Develop an up-to-date understanding of the market and consumer needs and identify the company's market fit and ideal customer profile. Analyse competitor product and service offerings and provide feedback to the company. Liaise with the R&D team to work on product and service improvements. Liaise with the Operations team on fulfilment and invoicing. Collect and deliver client feedback for product and service improvement. In the medium/long-term, help to hire, train, motivate, and advise a team of sales representatives. Identify knowledge gaps within the team and develop plans for filling them, relaying client requests and other information back to the lab/research and development teams. Participate in marketing efforts, including assisting with the generation of marketing materials and social media posts. From time to time, assist with sales of the company's pathology services when in combination with the microbiome service or assist other members of the team if necessary. Develop onboarding, check-in (account management), and other commercial SOPs to ensure client management is standardized and of the highest standard, including terms of service and price negotiations.
