Octavius is seeking skilled and motivated Quantity Surveyors, at all skill levels, including Senior Quantity Surveyors and Managing Quantity Surveyors, to join our team working on highways projects in the South West of England.
We are a dynamic civil engineering organisation committed to delivering exceptional transportation solutions across the UK.
The initial projects involve constructing new roads and roundabouts, as well as replacing and building a bridge over a railway line. These projects are valued between £7-20 million.

The role will involve travel to our sites 2 to 3 days per week.
Your Role and Responsibilities... We are recruiting for various levels within our Quantity Surveying team, each playing a crucial role in our projects.
You will be responsible for the robust commercial management of a variety of projects. This includes overseeing financial performance, managing costs, conducting procurement processes, and maintaining accurate financial logs and reports.
You will work closely with customers and stakeholders to support successful project delivery, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and achieving business plan commitments.
If you join as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will also manage a small team, ensuring their development and performance.
As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will oversee multiple projects and lead your team to deliver high-quality commercial services.

NEC Contracts experience is essential. Thorough knowledge of monitoring cost performance and effective contract administration. Evidence of building and maintaining effective relationships with teams, fostering a collaborative work environment. Track record of successfully managing and delivering against deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Good level of IT proficiency to leverage technology for efficient project management and thorough knowledge of cost management software and tools. Understanding of Lean principles, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement is an advantage.
