Commercial Sales Manager

Location – anywhere across the UK & Ireland

Salary – 60k, Plus Significant Bonus / Commission

My client, a global leader in geospatial solutions, is seeking an experienced Commercial Sales Manager to lead the sales of certified pre-owned equipment (CPE) across the UK and Ireland. This field-based role involves driving strategic growth through end-user sales, partner networks, and other distribution channels, with an emphasis on achieving revenue and profitability targets.

About the Role

As the Commercial Sales Manager, you will have three main areas of responsibility: expanding market access for CPE sales, managing the full workflow from inventory control to end-user sale, and ensuring strategic and financial objectives are met. You will liaise with internal sales teams and authorised distribution partners to manage business development opportunities. This role also includes overseeing the inventory, managing online resources, and maintaining strong financial controls to support sustainable revenue growth.

Additionally, you will work with dedicated technical resources, ensuring all aspects of the equipment lifecycle, from acquisition to resale, are effectively managed. Your role will involve close coordination with teams across the UK and Ireland, as well as other European branches, to drive seamless and profitable operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Drive revenue growth and profitability by implementing operational and strategic sales plans

- Engage with external end users and internal sales channels to promote CPE offerings

- Manage inventory, including buybacks and trade-ins, to optimise stock levels and pricing

- Forecast revenue and ensure robust financial reporting

- Control commercial offers to ensure adherence to process and margin requirements

- Maintain up-to-date equipment listings, including specifications and availability on the CPE UK website

- Ensure effective internal sales processes and end-user communication

- Supervise direct reports and support the development of team capabilities

- Liaise with international teams to manage any resale opportunities and ensure stock availability

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have substantial sales and commercial experience, ideally within the geospatial sector, and a proven track record of promoting technical products and services. You should be a confident communicator, able to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, and have excellent people management skills. Familiarity with the equipment rental market and experience in managing financial and operational performance will be advantageous.

You will thrive in high-pressure environments, have a keen eye for detail, and a results-driven, entrepreneurial mindset. Knowledge of geospatial or surveying equipment, and experience with CRM and ERP systems (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Business Central) is beneficial.
