Havant Are you a Design Engineer looking to join a leading manufacturer of main steering controls for commercial vessels? This company provides an outstanding work environment and excellent opportunities for career growth, with the potential to progress to the position of Chief Design Engineer. On offer is the opportunity to join a specialised supplier of autopilot systems. This company designs and manufactures steering controls and a wide range of autopilot systems and related equipment for commercial vessels. This company is the first UK manufacturer of fully Type Approved autopilot systems and is internationally represented by top brand distributors in the marine electronics sector. In this role, you will report to the Chief Design Engineer and gain daily insights as they transition into semi-retirement. You will play a key role in driving innovative ideas forward. Your daily responsibilities may include conducting in-depth hardware and software designs, adhering to project timelines, and participating in new product design from performance testing to production testing and product launch. This role is ideal for a Design Engineer with a marine background and experience in either AutoCAD or SolidWorks, who is looking to take on a key position within a well-established and highly respected company. The Role: New product design from initial feasibility studies, prototyping, environmental, EMC and performance testing through to production testing and product launch Meeting agreed project timescales and allocated budgets Conduct detailed hardware and software design Train & support junior team members Occasional installation and commissioning support on marine vessels within the UK and overseas Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week (8:30am-5:30pm) The Person: Design Engineer or similar Degree in electronic engineering Knowledge and experience of control systems Schematic design, capture and PCB layout Experience of the full design lifecycle If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV.
