We are looking for a creative and collaborative person to join the Marketing and Communications team at Brainkind to help us support people to thrive after brain injury, or to live with other neurological conditions.

Brainkind is a charity that aims to improve the lives of people with brain injuries in the UK.

Our assessment centres, rehabilitation units and hospitals use expert neurorehabilitation to support people to regain the skills they have lost. We treat people with a range of brain injuries sustained through trauma, illness, substance abuse and more – to recover and meet their personal goals. MAIN PURPOSE:

You will have a creative eye and excellent writing skills, and will create a range of content for all of our audiences, including newsletters, web content and case studies. You will also use your digital skills to create or commission engaging content to build our brand and reach our key audiences.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop key written content for both internal and external audiences, including newsletters, case studies, marketing materials and web copy.

Oversee the distribution of newsletters to our internal and external audiences.

Support the Internal Communications Manager to maintain Connect, our internal communications platform.

Work with our Digital Communications Manager to maintain the Brainkind website, creating content for our key audiences.

Design simple visual content, including graphics for social media and our intranet, using Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva.

Develop relationships with our local services, and help to create content to tell their story.

Work with our Fundraising Team to create content to support campaigns.

Work closely with teams across the organisation to support them with any internal communication needs.

Be a first point of contact for all internal communication enquiries.

Support the Internal Communications Manager with the development of communication plans for a variety of projects, and with reporting on the success of internal communications channels.

Support the delivery of a regular programme of webinars to the organisation.

Work with the wider Communications team to ensure good news stories are shared externally, and to identify opportunities for us to tell our story.

Represent Brainkind at internal events and meetings where appropriate.

Undertake any other reasonable duties that fall within the role of the Communications Officer.

ABOUT YOU:

At least two years’ experience working within a marketing and communications team.

A good understanding of social media channels, and how to create engaging content.

IT and Office365 knowledge and practical application.

Experience of using e-marketing software and CMS tools.

Experience of using digital design software, including Canva or the Adobe Suite.

Experience of building relationships with internal teams.

Experience of working across multiple projects.

Good copywriting skills, and the ability to tailor content for different audiences.

Excellent organisational skills, and the ability to plan effectively.

Ability to think creatively and come up with solutions to problems.

An enthusiastic and flexible approach: able to work closely and adaptively with the immediate team and collaboratively across the entire organisation.

Strong work ethic with the ability to manage multiple priorities against tight deadlines.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
