The opportunity

A leading transport regulator is seeking a Communications Specialist to join their corporate affairs function. This role will report to the Director of Communications and will play a pivotal role on all stakeholder engagement activities including internal colleagues and political stakeholders.


Key responsibilities

  • Drive strategic stakeholder engagement initiatives to strengthen relationships and advocate for the organisation’s priorities.
  • Develop and execute a forward-looking engagement plan, maintaining regular updates on emerging issues and organizational news via newsletters and briefings.
  • Inform and train internal teams on stakeholder relations, offering insights into external developments.
  • Prepare speeches, briefs, and support senior leaders' stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Handle communications and responses (e.g., parliamentary questions, Freedom of Information requests) and support internal alignment on key issues.
  • Facilitate political engagement, including coordinating with key MPs and committees.
  • Contribute to a consistent, coordinated approach within the Communications & Engagement team.


The ideal candidate

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in senior-level stakeholder management within large organisations.
  • Strong understanding of aviation and aerospace stakeholders, including government, airlines, and regulatory agencies.
  • Clear, persuasive communicator with excellent writing skills and adherence to deadlines.
  • Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders to build trust.
  • Skilled in crisis communication to maintain stakeholder confidence during emergencies.
  • Adaptable to changes in industry regulations, safety protocols, and technology.
