Based on the Isle of Wight, this is a unique opportunity to lead impactful communication campaigns and make a real difference in our business and the community. The Role:

As our Communications Manager, you’ll play a key role in planning, managing, and delivering a wide range of communication and engagement campaigns. This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days on site and 2-3 days working from home (Monday - Friday). Salary range for the role is £35,000 - £40,000. Location:

Isle of Wight Waste Recovery Park, Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 5YS. You will: Lead all communication efforts for our Isle of Wight operation, including employee communication, press, and social media management. Deliver end-to-end campaigns that align with our broader Waste Treatment communications strategy. Create engaging content for various channels, from articles and press releases to social media posts, videos, and infographics. Be the first point of contact for communication-related queries and provide solutions. Obtain buy-in from stakeholders for communication activities, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Ensure consistency in messaging by maintaining brand guidelines and tone of voice across all channels. Strategically direct communication for the Waste Treatment Education Centre in Newport, ensuring community engagement. Collaborate with the wider Thalia communications team to share best practices and insights. What You Bring:

Proven experience in leading communication and engagement campaigns, whether in-house or agency-based (essential). Creative copywriting and editing skills tailored to different channels and audiences. Experience in content creation using various tools and platforms. The ability to adapt to changing business needs and deliver tailored communication solutions. Strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to spot and mitigate communication risks. Experience in managing external relationships with agencies and third parties. Impact-focused: skilled in measuring the success of campaigns and expressing their value. Our technology includes everything from mechanical and biological treatment, traditional mass-burn energy from waste, and material recycling technologies to in-vessel composting, advanced thermal treatment, innovative small-scale energy from waste, and anaerobic digestion. In a single year we process 300,000 tonnes of waste that is turned into energy. This generates the same amount of energy as approximately 600 million solar panels. Similarly, we recycle circa 95,000 tonnes of waste.
