NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 6 HCPC registered Dietitian to join the established NHS Highland Diabetes Dietetic Team. This post will work within the NHS Highland Community Dietetic Service with support from the Diabetes MDT. This post provides a service to adults attending Diabetes outpatient clinics, including both one-to-one and group work. Workload is varied with referrals being generated for those requiring insulin, including providing a service to our insulin pump clinic and maternity services. This is an excellent opportunity to consolidate your skills in diabetes care and work within an established and experienced MDT. We continue to develop innovative and trauma-informed approaches to health and wellbeing, especially in relation to Diabetes and weight; this takes a compassionate stance and recognizes the impact of life circumstances on health outcomes. You will participate in undergraduate student training and provide clinical support and supervision for other Dietitians as part of the Community and wider Dietetic Team. We are strongly committed to lifelong learning, support for CPD and clinical governance. We actively participate in PDP annual appraisals, peer support, and training opportunities to further develop clinical skills. We would welcome applications from appropriately experienced dietitians who are committed to improving outcomes for people with Type 1 Diabetes through working as part of a dedicated team to deliver safe, quality care. NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro-rata for part-time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37-hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Recruiting Board.
