Job summary
South Somerset Community Nursing Team are looking to recruit a Band 6 Team Leader for a 12 month secondment, to manage a team of Band 5s, 4s and 3s working alongside another experienced Band 6 Team Leader. You will be responsible for taking on a clinical caseload of complex patients. Main duties, tasks & skills required
The Band 6 role in District Nursing involves a ratio of 20% management and 80% clinical. The Band 6 does take a caseload. They are also responsible for supervisions, career conversations while managing the team and also helping to run the hub. They are expected to work shift patterns between 8am and 10pm and while being clinical, they are responsible for complex patient care and supporting the team of staff. It can be a challenging role but also very rewarding. You will work alongside another Band 6 and share duties required to support and manage the Band 5s, Band 4 and Band 3s. You are overseen by a senior District Nurse Manager. We are part of a neighbourhood and work closely with Community Nursing Teams across South Somerset. We care for housebound patients within Yeovil, Wincanton plus surrounding villages. About us

Qualifications

Appropriately registered with the Professional body as per post requirements Relevant degree or equivalent qualification Evidence of continuing professional development and to have undertaken post registration training Leadership/management programme or prepared to undertake a course Desirable
Non-Medical Prescriber Coaching and/or mentorship training. Experience
Essential
Substantial experience in the required setting Demonstrate clinical and managerial leadership ability Experience of working in multi-agency Ability to undertake the higher level clinical skills required for the specialist area Desirable
