Hastings District Libraries is looking for an enthusiastic and organised team player to join our Community Engagement Team! This permanent part-time position offers 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility required. The role works across our three library facilities, providing variety and opportunities to connect with different communities.
As a Community Engagement Library Assistant, you’ll support a range of outreach activities and promotions that help the library connect with youth, older adults, Māori, Pasifika, ethnic communities, and vulnerable groups. If you enjoy working with people, have strong communication skills, and are digitally savvy, this could be the role for you!
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting outreach and promotional activities.
Assisting with community events and engagement.
Helping maintain and update stakeholder contact information.
Providing friendly and helpful support to library users.

Strong oral and written communication skills.
A friendly, customer-focused attitude with the ability to work well in a busy team environment.
