Overview

Making the decision to enter treatment can be an intimidating experience for the people we support. You can make a difference. As a Community Engagement Recovery Support Volunteer with Change Grow Live, you’ll work with people who use our services, helping them get to where they want to be. Responsibilities

With this role, you’ll be working as part of the Core team, based in Grassroots, Nelson. The team supports people with their or their loved ones’ drug and/or alcohol issues. No two days are the same, and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual, so being flexible, curious, and a good listener are key. You will be fully trained to support with triage/assessment, 1-2-1 sessions, group work, and our case management system. You will need to be open and flexible in your approach and understand the barriers faced by people who use our service. We will support you in this volunteering role by ensuring that you receive regular supervision and have someone on site who you can approach for day-to-day advice and guidance. In return for the time you give, you will receive valuable training and gain experience and skills. You’ll be making a real difference too. Training

You will need to be available for the following dates for training. This will be face-to-face, and you will be required to attend one session for each topic: Induction Training:

26/02/25 (Burnley), 28/02/25 (Accrington) Boundaries Training:

05/03/25 (Burnley), 07/03/25 (Accrington) Drug Awareness Training:

02/04/25 (Burnley), 04/04/25 (Accrington) Alcohol Awareness Training:

09/04/25 (Burnley), 11/04/25 (Accrington) Safeguarding Training:

16/04/25 (Burnley), 18/04/25 (Accrington) Trauma Informed Care Training:

23/04/25 (Burnley), 25/04/25 (Accrington) Interview Dates

Interviews will take place face-to-face (wherever possible) at Nelson (Grassroots) Inspire W/C 17/02/25. Testimonials

This is what one of the people who use our service had to say: “Me and my key worker get on really well and this benefits me, coming to Change Grow Live gives me stability.” Values

Our values are to be compassionate, open, and bold. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you, so click apply. Closing Date
