Hull CVS / Hull Food Partnership 9th February 2025 Description

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in your community? Do you possess excellent organisational skills, an understanding of how good nutritious food helps build better communities, and want to help tackle food poverty? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! The Hull Food Partnership is hosted by Hull CVS, whose aims are to make Hull a Sustainable Food Place. Our team works alongside the community, policymakers, city leaders, businesses, local food producers, community organisers, public sector workers, citizens, and volunteers to change and influence our food environment for a sustainable future for everyone. We are looking for an exceptional individual to join us as a Community Food Support Officer to help map the current food provision within Hull and to improve the offering to become more sustainable and enable struggling households to move from the point of needing emergency food provision to more dignified and affordable alternatives. The post-holder will work alongside the existing Development Officer and Campaigns & Projects Officer to strengthen community food provision in Hull with greater access to healthy and nutritious food that is fairly sourced and affordable to people living in the city. As part of the Hull Food Strategy Food Poverty Action Plan implementation, the main responsibilities of the role will be to: Set up and maintain a bulk food purchasing system for local community food organisations, with a view to developing a food buying co-operative in Hull that will lead on this over time. Develop the successful expansion and roll-out of the Food Exchange Platform by sourcing local food growers and community food organisations, supporting them to use the platform and test new functionality to ensure accessibility and usability for all. The post-holder will also contribute to national and local food policy work and research, coordinate events with key stakeholders, and help Hull achieve the Sustainable Food Places Silver Award. How to apply

To apply for the position, please send a CV and covering letter outlining how you meet the requirements of the role to: Rachael Fischer, Head of HR & Operations at rfischer@hull-cvs.co.uk

PLEASE NOTE – applications without a cover letter will not be considered.
