Here at Active Fusion, we're now looking for a new Community Health and Sports Officer to lead our team of coaches, deliver on our programs, and help shape our future provision across South Yorkshire. If you've not heard of Active Fusion, here is some more info! Active Fusion Active Fusion has been helping the young people of Doncaster and South Yorkshire through the power of sport and physical activity since 2002! They're now a 20+ team full of passionate people who want to help increase the life expectancy of young people in the local area. They do this through 1:1 and group coaching, partnerships in education, and leadership training for young people. You You may already have experience working within a charity, but it is not essential for any of our current roles (we're recruiting for a few different roles at present). This role is key in the delivery of what we do and on a day-to-day basis, as well as delivering sessions yourself over 2 to 3 days, you'll also be deploying, overseeing, and line managing a team of coaches – both employed and contracted, other freelance stakeholders, and also the educational team. It's a small team of no more than 5. It's your role to ensure that our programmes meet the needs of the local communities! These range from our holiday provision and camp programmes to ad hoc shorter events. Currently, this role will involve delivering in Doncaster approx. 60% of the time with the remainder of the time spent across Barnsley, Rotherham & Sheffield. Because of this, a large part of this role is relationship building when you're out and about in the community to find out what needs there are. This will involve meeting with local partners, spending time with stakeholders, and really embedding yourself into the local community. When back in the office for the remaining couple of days, your typical day would involve reviewing what has been delivered, the outcomes achieved, designing future programmes, and developing the provision to meet this need which would include procurement of services, locations, and people. We're open to receiving applications from anyone who feels that they have the passion and transferable skills to make a difference in this role. Our ideal candidate would, however, have: At least a couple of years of experience working with young people in education/youth/community settings as you'd need to be self-sufficient with regards to setting up and delivering on the programmes. This may be in a delivery capacity and/or a project capacity. Understanding of safeguarding principles, children protection/working with vulnerable young people. Minimum level 2 qualification in any sport. With regards to the level 2 qualification, Active Fusion are running a L2 course at the end of January, so if you are qualified through experience, it's still worth us having a chat. If you think this role sounds perfect for you, we'd love to receive your application for review at the start of 2024. Once you've applied, we'll be able to share more information on our application process and further details on the role. Thank you for your interest and for reading about this opportunity and what we do at Active Fusion.
