Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as part of the multi-disciplinary community Learning Disability CYPMHS Team Wirral. They will be expected to manage a defined case load of 0-18-year-olds with Severe Learning Disabilities and profound and multiple disabilities who may exhibit behaviours that challenge others and have complex physical health needs and mental health difficulties. The post holder will be expected to hold a full driving license and to work flexibly in varying locations in the community, including family homes, education settings and an office base. They will provide direct clinical work, liaise with other agencies and staff, and will support the development of students within the service. About us

Registered Learning Disability Nurse RNLD Demonstrate commitment to ongoing training and development Desirable

NST 307 / ENB 998 Knowledge and Expertise

Sound understanding of PBS & ability to utilise a range of functional assessment tools & interpret data Ability to assess/plans/evaluate care to clients and carers Ability to support clients in crisis Record keeping & Report writing skills Ability to chair meetings e.g. service user reviews Ability to deliver training to other professionals, service users and carers Basic working knowledge of legislation and policy relating to learning disabilities Desirable

Special interests related to Positive Behaviour Support and reducing restrictive practices Experience

Experience of person centred planning and person centred approaches to care Experience of working with people with learning disabilities in a range of settings Ability to implement systems to improve communication and promote engagement in skills development and engagement with positive activities Desirable
