Community Mental Health Charge Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 6 Community Mental Health Nurse to join West Fife Community Mental Health Team. This post will be situated within West Fife Community Mental Health Team, which incorporates a wide geographical area within Fife. The area is split between two teams, Team 1 & Team 2, with five different consultant psychiatrists. A further team is allocated for the Electro Convulsive Therapy service and Physical Health Care Monitoring Clinic. The team works as one large nursing force providing comprehensive patient care, urgent and crisis mental health assessments, and Matrix 1 & 2 treatment interventions. This post will hold a complex caseload and require good team working, adaptability, and enthusiasm to guide junior staff and the service forward. Fife’s CMHTs are undergoing innovative changes to the care and treatment for community-based secondary care patients. We are developing a comprehensive complex-trauma and personality disorder pathway, delivering a skills-based approach through Safe and Able to Cope, Decider Skills, and Emotional Resources Group. We are also planning the roll-out of Structured Clinical Management to complete the pathway. Another significant development is the creation of Physical Healthcare Clinics offering Clozapine, Lithium, and High Dose Monitoring, as well as ADHD and Eating Disorder health checks. The CMHTs continue to provide quality evidence-based interventions for those experiencing major mental illness and disorder. Applications for this post are invited from experienced RMNs who can demonstrate knowledge and experience of working with adults presenting with a range of mental health problems, as well as a sound understanding of their physical health needs, including prescribed treatment. As an enthusiastic mental health nurse, you will join this service and work within a multi-disciplinary team committed to partnership working with strong links to other secondary care and community services. The successful applicant will have experience in team working, problem-solving, flexibility, high-level communication skills, continuing personal development, and change management. The post holder will have day-to-day responsibility for managing their workload, including assessment, care planning, evaluation, and delivery of care to patients presenting with a variety of mental health problems in both virtual and face-to-face settings.
