Overview of a Community Safety Officer: Pertemps have an exciting opportunity within Harrow Council for a self-driven and motivated Community Safety Officer to join an expanding team. The role of a Community Safety Officer has a competitive pay rate of £200 Umbrella PAYE day rate.

The Main Purpose of a Community Safety Officer: To determine compliance with ASB legislation, to determine the need for and to initiate enforcement action, including carrying out visits and determination of legislative requirements and the need for further action. Represent the Council at public inquiries, public meetings, external organisations and Council committee meetings, providing technical information and reports for service-related issues. Identify and carry out investigations and prepare appropriate solutions for professional problems, within the relevant discipline, including consultation, liaison and partnership working. Prepare, as necessary, reports and statements of evidence for legal proceedings resulting from contraventions of legislation, to meet and advise legal on cases to assist in the preparation of cases and securing legal action, and to attend court to give evidence on behalf of the council as required. Provide professional, expert and up-to-date technical and legislative advice to residents, businesses, Members and key stakeholders. Prepare committee reports, technical reports, proofs of evidence, briefing notes and correspondence for complex issues within the service area to which the post is designated with support from lead officers.

About you:

The successful Community Safety Officer will have:

Must have a satisfactory advanced DBS check. Must have up-to-date knowledge of the ASB and Crime Act 2014. Aptitude for understanding the technical and legal aspects of the role, to ensure successful and robust interpretation and solutions. Inclusive team worker who can foster partnerships and work collaboratively across teams to achieve desired performance and outcomes.
