Job overview We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated band 5 Community Staff Nurse to join our friendly and supportive community nursing teams in Grange, Windermere & Ambleside District Nurses.
1 x 30 hour post, over 4 days per week

You will demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for holistic patient centred delivery of care within the community, with a focus on personal and professional development. You will work as part of a dynamic team who give equal importance to staff health and wellbeing, in addition to providing high standard care to our community. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop a wide range of clinical skills and knowledge relating to the increasing complexity of care delivered within the community, including wound, pressure ulcer and end of life care.
Main duties of the job The role requires excellent communication skills as you will be undertaking complex nursing assessments and developing and delivering programmes of care for patients and carers. The district nurses work a 24hr service and there is an expectation that you may be required to support this to ensure service delivery.
You will need to work collaboratively with other professionals, voluntary sector and informal carers to promote excellent care to patients in their own homes and community setting.
You will be joining an enthusiastic and motivated team who are friendly and approachable. We are very patient focused and staff development is high on our agenda. As part of our team we want to develop all staff to the highest standard.
You will need a full UK drivers licence and access to a car in order to fulfil this role.
Working for our organisation We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
Our community services for adults are provided in people’s homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals and our main hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent, improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care, advice and support.
