We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurses to join our Community Nursing Team.

Community nursing is located across multiple sites in the borough of St Helens. We provide treatment, support and guidance for a wide range of health issues within patients' own homes.

An Enhanced DBS with barred lists for both Adults and Children is required for this post.

KEY DUTIES To establish, maintain and develop professional working relationships with colleagues. Follow all agreed Quality Assurance Mechanisms in operation and contribute generally to the establishment and development of a quality service. Adhere to policies and procedures including standing financial instructions and orders. Participate in the Trust’s Development Review Appraisal process and, with line management, objectives and development plans. Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. Comply with the Trust’s Equal Opportunities Policy. Contribute to health promotion strategies. Be familiar with safeguarding arrangements for children, young people and vulnerable adults. Ensure compliance with the Trust’s Infection Control Policies.

CLINICAL & PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Adhere to relevant code of practice of professional body. Maintain and utilise advanced clinical skills for patient care. Implement nursing care as per care plan. Develop competency in wound care. Administer drugs in line with Trust Policies and Procedures.

ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure patient records are kept up to date and accurate.

TEACHING & TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES Support the development of junior staff through clinical supervision and mentoring. Attend mandatory training. Demonstrate a commitment to personal continuing education.

RESEARCH & AUDIT Participate in any research undertaken in the unit. Assist in the Department’s Audit Programme.

LINE MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Act as preceptor/mentor to new members of staff. Mentor pre-registration nurses and other students.
