The Complementary Therapist reports into the Inpatient Unit Manager and is responsible for providing a high standard of complementary therapy service on the Inpatient Unit, and across the hospice where appropriate.
Qualifications
Level 3 qualifications in two or more of the following: Massage, Aromatherapy, Reiki, Reflexology, crystal therapy, oncology massage
Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
Diploma Level in Aromatherapy & Reflexology, Massage
Membership of Professional Organisation, e.g. Federation of Holistic Therapies (FHT)
Knowledge and Experience
Extensive experience in complementary therapy in a variety of settings
Evidence of continued professional development
Demonstrated ability to work as part of an inter-disciplinary team and work independently
Demonstrates sound clinical practice knowledge appropriate to Specialist Palliative Care level practice, in Palliative Care, Oncology or Community setting
Experience of ensuring continuous improvement
Previous experience of working in a hospice and/or health and social care environment
Experience in palliative care or life limiting conditions
Experience and competence in handling situations of grief and loss and patient advocating
