This is a financial accounting role, working closely with the Completion Accountants Manager, Completion Accountants, external accountants, and integration and M&A teams in each territory. This role is responsible for the accounting of acquisitions into IVC Evidensia. Main tasks will be providing reports to the completion accountants in-country, checking the completion accounts of trade and asset deals to ensure compliance with IVC policy and financial reporting standards, and creating and posting completion accounts for these acquisitions, whilst adhering to timetable and best practice at all times.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

Ensuring timely delivery of reports and other information to in-country accountants. Reviewing completion accounts for trade and asset deals, raising queries with in-country accountants, matching opening balances with post-completion transactions, and passing the final draft for internal review. Creating and posting associated completion account journals into the accounting system. Providing ad hoc support to completion accountants to assist them in their tasks. Creating a robust audit trail for all work. Ensuring that all relevant documentation and correspondence is filed promptly. Reconciliation of pre-completion balance sheet accounts for each set of completion accounts, with particular responsibility for keeping these reconciliations clear across all Mainland Europe entities. Reviewing and checking settlements relating to trade and asset deals, and associated accounting entries. Responding appropriately and promptly to queries from internal and external teams. Supporting process improvement initiatives to ensure all processes are robust and efficient. Ad hoc additional tasks as required.

Experience/Qualifications:

Essential: Accountant with a professional accounting qualification (ACCA or similar). Demonstrable experience in an accounting role, ideally with knowledge of accounts preparation and audit. Strong technical understanding of balance sheet and financial statements. Excellent attention to detail, and able to deliver right-first-time results quickly, while maintaining a robust audit trail for all work. Thrives in a fast-paced constantly changing environment - flexibility is key. Able to demonstrate strong communication and influencing skills with a range of internal and external stakeholders. Deadline focused, with excellent time management skills to ensure posting forecasts are met. Robust understanding of small companies and how they work. Meticulous organisational skills.

Desirable: Experience of Open Accounts would be an advantage. Experience in acquisitions accounting. Evidence of regular CPD, particularly keeping up to date with financial reporting standards. Relevant language skills (including but not limited to Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Swedish, Norwegian).
