Panoramic is proud to partner with a flagship housing service in Suffolk to recruit an experienced and dedicated Compliance and Building Safety Manager. This is an exceptional opportunity to join the senior management team within the Maintenance & Contracts (Housing) service, ensuring the safety, well-being, and compliance of a substantial housing stock while driving service excellence.

About the Role

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering vital housing services, from day-to-day repairs to major regeneration projects. This position is critical to maintaining compliance with UK standards, overseeing inspections, and ensuring all corrective actions are executed to the highest quality.

Key Responsibilities

1. Compliance Management:

  • Lead on compliance across all Council housing stock, ensuring adherence to UK Compliance Standards.
  • Achieve 100% compliance for gas servicing and electrical testing through collaboration with Customer Liaison Officers.

2. Inspection Oversight:

  • Coordinate and ensure timely completion of essential compliance inspections, including:
    • Annual Gas Safety Inspections
    • Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR)
    • Fire alarm testing and emergency lighting checks
    • Fire risk assessments
    • Legionella and water risk assessments
    • Lift inspections, portable appliance testing, and lightning conductor inspections
    • Asbestos management and RIDDOR reporting
    • Firefighting equipment, such as AOVs, sprinkler systems, and dry risers

3. Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Work closely with Surveyors, Contract Managers, and other stakeholders to allocate, monitor, and progress tasks effectively.
  • Champion near-miss reporting and uphold high safety and quality standards.

4. Expert Guidance and Training:

  • Provide technical advice on building safety and compliance to key stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver training for non-technical staff on compliance-related topics.
