The Opportunity: The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and running all of the firm's operational compliance functions. They will play an essential role in setting the strategy and direction of the firm's compliance activities, covering key areas such as SRA, FCA, money laundering, ICO, and complaints management.

Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership : Set plans and objectives for the compliance function, contributing to its long-term strategy. Risk Evaluation : Evaluate and communicate risk levels, significance, and scope within the firm's compliance procedures to the Compliance Board. Compliance Management : Oversee policies, systems, and controls related to compliance, reporting breaches to regulatory bodies like the SRA and ICO. Client Complaints : Investigate client complaints and recommend appropriate corrective actions. Provide advice on policy, system, and personnel issues. Training & Development : Deliver risk and compliance training, ensuring the firm remains compliant with all relevant regulations, including GDPR and money laundering laws. Data Protection : Act as the primary point of contact for data protection inquiries and Subject Access Requests. Team Leadership : Manage and develop the compliance team, creating a culture of excellence and accountability. Audit & Monitoring : Conduct audits to ensure ongoing compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Collaboration : Work with department heads to identify and mitigate risk factors, and collaborate with the Compliance Board and insurers to address any claims against the firm.

Required Experience: 5+ years of compliance experience

within a law firm or similar professional services environment. Proven experience in

strategic planning

and

problem-solving

in compliance contexts. Familiarity with

SRA, FCA , money laundering regulations, GDPR, anti-bribery measures, conflicts of interest, and client due diligence. Proficiency in IT , strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
