Reed Recruitment (Southampton Branch) are recruiting for a compliance engineer in the early stages of their career. Our client manufactures high-end student accommodation modules in a modern production facility in Micheldever.

Description of Role

The Compliance Engineer, reporting to the compliance manager, is responsible for ensuring that the final quality of the manufactured modules is in line with the required standard to guarantee a premium quality product. You will be liaising with Production and Material Planning and Logistics to ensure that the physical condition aligns with the quality of the design release, BOM and Traveller processes.

Key Responsibilities

Completing visual and physical quality inspections on all completed modules.

Reviewing and signing off on completed rework.

Supporting with raising non-conformance reports on the shop floor and initiating corrective and preventative actions to ensure reports are closed out correctly.

Completing goods in inspections on critical components where required.

Compiling digital factory compliance evidence and identifying gaps.

Leading QR code reporting systems on the shop floor.

Supporting with collection of compliance evidence such as torque data and firestopping where required.

Ensuring Epicor Traveller is aligned with product built and correct to BOM and design release.

Previous experience or relevant work experience in a similar role within industrial manufacturing.

Ability to read drawings, specifications and reports.

Professional time management and highly effective interpersonal skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Knowledge of Microsoft packages: Excel and Word, in particular.

Confident in using technology such as tablets.

Ability to use ERP systems as a User and understand importance of correct transactions.

Previous experience with QR code reporting systems such as Dashpivot.

Previous experience with ERP systems.

Qualifications in Quality systems or BTEC equivalent engineering (HNC/HND or higher).

Personal Qualities:

Committed team player with the ability to develop and maintain productive work relationships.

Strong attention to detail is essential with a determination to meet deadlines and manage flexibility on workdays.

Highly organized, excellent ability to communicate effectively.

Flexibility conducive to a fast-paced, growing company environment.
