We currently have a vacancy in our Technical Department for a Compliance Manager. Reporting to the Quality and Compliance manager, this role

will actively manage company compliance systems to ensure our systems at the Gosport site meet requirements of independent standards and customers.

Main Responsibilities include:

Maintain and improve the key systems that form the Integrated Management System (IMS) that ensures compliance to the company’s formal certifications and customer standards.

Proactively identify compliance requirements (within standards, legislation and customer standards) and ensure compliance before commencement dates.

Implement improvements to the Compliance systems both proactively and reactively and ensure that wherever possible technology is utilized.

Ensure that Huhtamaki is sufficiently prepared to seamlessly transition to new standards within a short timescale.

Ensure that all key activities within the IMS such as data analysis, report generation, quality and H&S investigations, audit action follow-up are completed to a high standard and on time.

Ensure that the internal audit system is effectively organized, and audits are completed to agreed schedule.

Host external audits. Ensure audit preparation is adequate to eliminate non-conformities.

Coordinate response to audit findings work including ensuring all NC’s, observations and Ops for Improvement are fully closed out and documented.

Provide administrative support to organize meetings and events, document meetings, update systems and notice boards.

To communicate key issues to a wider audience by delivering inductions, training sessions etc.

To be involved in harmonization & improvement activities and project work.

Harmonize where possible the Compliance systems between Gosport and Group ensuring best practice learning, and improvement is applied.

The successful candidate will have the following:

Qualified to a minimum of GCSE in maths and English (Grade C / 6 and above).

Ideally qualified with A-Levels, CQI/IRCA Lead Auditor qualified and BRCGS HARA – Level 2 or 3.

Experience of working in a high-volume manufacturing operation, and ideally in plastics and/or paper processing.

Experience of maintaining or streamlining Compliance & Quality systems and ideally conducting and hosting audits with an understanding of compliance and standards, including familiarity with auditing.

Ideally has knowledge and deep understanding of ISO standards, BRC Packaging standard and systems to identify new legislation & knowledge of UK and EU regulations covering Food Contact Packaging.

Strong IT skills in MS Word, Excel, and other MS Office applications with the ability to create graphs, analyze trends and make recommendations.

Good verbal and written communications skills & strong organizational skills.

Strong teamwork skills & a positive & proactive approach are a must.

The role is office based in our Gosport site working Monday to Friday, there is opportunity to work from home up to 2-3 days per week once trained & confident in the role.
