COMPLIANCE MANAGER
to join them on a 12-month fixed term contract to cover for maternity leave. The successful incumbent will play a proactive role in driving the company’s compliance strategy and agenda, thus making the role ideal for a candidate who wishes to contribute and add value in a dynamic and fast-paced Compliance environment. Key Responsibilities: Undertake horizon scanning, maintaining detailed knowledge of regulatory requirements relevant to the business, and keeping abreast of forthcoming changes from across Europe. Report to management and external stakeholders as required, advising of regulatory status and forecasted changes, and how such changes will affect the business. Provide assurance on how well the compliance risks are being managed by leading the execution of internal compliance reviews, interpreting investigations and findings, and making recommendations as appropriate. Analyse flagged transactions for suspicious activity that could constitute money laundering, carrying out customer due diligence reviews as required and requested. Take a proactive role in the successful design of policies, procedures, and controls for the successful operation of the compliance department. Support on all other compliance related assurance activity, including internal audit reviews, and other regulatory inspections as required. Take part in the day-to-day interaction with various regulators including the FCA, Data Protection Commissioner and Financial Services & Pensions Ombudsman. Support the Operations, Sales and Customer Support teams through efficient Compliance query handling on an ongoing, ad hoc basis. Lead on the coaching and development of other staff members as required. All other ad hoc project work as required. Key Role Requirements: Minimum 5 years’ experience within a broad, generalist compliance role – with a strong preference towards UK Payments industry experience, and experience of AML/CTF. Strong communication skills (both verbal and written); strong analytical and reporting skills. Methodical and structured approach to work, with great attention to detail. Confident user of IT applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Self-motivated individual with an ability to manage own workload through strong organisational and time management skills. Effective problem solver with numerical skills; shows initiative when dealing with issues and good understanding of when to escalate / seek assistance. Delivery focused, capable of working on own initiative in a fast-paced environment, working to challenging deadlines. Highly motivated with a desire to learn new skills, ability to work under pressure, takes personal ownership for delivering consistently superior output. A specific compliance and or business qualification would be an advantage.
