Main duties of the job Be the Trust's lead expert for Water & Ventilation compliance providing expert professional advice on all current legislation. Be responsible for communicating complex and sensitive or contentious service-related information to GSTT wider staffing groups outside of Essentia. Support the head of service with the development of a compliance and assurance hard services strategy (aligned to GSTT strategy to 2030) and deliver the successful strategy, to improve compliance and assurance performance across all GSTT sites. To continually improve reporting systems in order to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. This may require innovative and new ways of delivering services which may conflict with traditional thinking and opinions. Pro-actively monitor compliance metrics and identify trends for remedial and/or improvement programmes to enhance the GSTT compliance and assurance performance. Act as emergency manager during major incidents for recovery planning purposes.

Person Specification Skills Essential Understanding of the relationships between Facilities departments and their impact on the process set out and required by compliance. Significant experience of development of Hard Services Policies and Procedures including the introduction of innovation in service delivery. Ability to analyse complex problems and to develop practical and workable solutions to address them. Formulation and presentation of technical reports. Highly developed leadership and influencing skills with the ability to enthuse, motivate and involve individuals and teams to achieve departmental targets.
Experience Essential Substantial experience of operating in a senior hard services role in an estates and facilities context. Fully conversant with the statutory and legal requirements that impact on building owners and occupiers. Fully understand the level and the standard of service required to ensure hard services statutory and performance standards are maintained, monitored and regularly reviewed. Demonstrate a good knowledge of budget/financial management. Substantial staff management experience which will include external contractors and their effective management. Significant experience gained in the process to ensure legal compliance in accordance with the various Acts of Parliament and Local by-laws required under health & safety.
Knowledge Essential Master's Degree gained within hard services discipline. Registered with a recognised professional body.
