Compliance Officer .

This role offers a salary range of £37,000-£40,000 per annum, with working hours from 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. The position is available on a hybrid basis, providing flexibility in your work environment.

About the Role: Are you a skilled Compliance Officer with experience in financial services or insurance? Do you have a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and a passion for ensuring ethical practices within the financial industry? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a small but dynamic compliance team.

Reporting to the Compliance Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the organization’s compliance program, with a particular focus on Data Protection. You will work collaboratively across departments to identify, assess, and mitigate risks while ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance:

Stay current with relevant financial services and insurance regulations, particularly concerning Data Protection (DP), and assist in implementing necessary compliance measures.

Data Protection:

Provide advice on privacy, data-sharing, and data transfer issues; manage Access Requests; review documents; and oversee Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).

Policy Development:

Assist in maintaining compliance policies and procedures tailored to the financial services and insurance sectors.

Audit & Risk Assessment:

Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential compliance vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.

Training and Education:

Train, coach, and support employees on data protection compliance requirements.

Reporting:

Prepare Management Information (MI) compliance reports, highlight areas of concern, propose solutions, and provide real-time compliance advice.

Monitoring and Testing:

Maintain a robust monitoring and testing program to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.

Audit Preparation:

Assist with internal and external audits to ensure a smooth process and positive outcomes.

What You’ll Need:

Experience in a compliance role within financial services or insurance.

Solid understanding of relevant financial regulations, including UK GDPR.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify and convey complex legislation, regulations, and policies effectively.

Experience in report writing, policy development, and trend analysis, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Willingness to travel occasionally to other group offices.
