Kennedys is looking for a Conduct Risk lawyer to join our Risk & Compliance team (in any of our offices) who provide expert information, advice and guidance to the Firm on professional responsibility, risk and compliance issues. This role will be responsible for reviewing our complaints procedures/policies and developing complaints handling processes which align with our clients' requirements. TeamKennedys Risk & Compliance team handles a wide range of partnership and risk and compliance issues for the firm and acts as an in-house legal department assisting with regulatory and professional conduct enquiries. This role will be in the Conduct Risk Team who provide a legal and regulatory advisory service which both proactively and reactively manages risk and ensures compliance, protecting and supporting the firm in the global delivery of its services.Key responsibilities Reviewing and taking ownership of the complaints handling process to ensure that it aligns and develops with our clients' requirements;Take responsibility for complaints handling MI and reporting;Investigating complaints and preparing responses to the complainant and regulatory bodies where necessary;Working with the team to oversee the day-to-day management of the firm's professional indemnity claims, ensuring that these are resolved as quickly and efficiently as possible having regard to the firm's regulatory, commercial and insurance obligations;Developing and maintaining working relationships with the firm's brokers, insurers and any panel lawyers appointed;Use the claims management system to record all claims and to assist with preparation of the bordereau;Analysing and reporting on compliance failures which are material or part of a recurring pattern, making recommendations for action;Provide guidance to the firm on professional conduct issues;Support the Legal Counsel with updating the firm's policies and guidance as necessary;Deal with conduct risk queries from the firm that are allocated by the Helpdesk and comply with SLA's;Keeping up to date with legal and regulatory compliance and applying the implications of such changes to the firm's situation.Attending meetings and maintaining effective communication with other business services departments to support the delivery of the risk & compliance service to the business. Required experience Professional indemnity fee earning background 3 - 5years;Ideally some previous experience of working in a Risk and Compliance team.
