Location: Multiple sites: South Manchester and North Birmingham Job Type: Full-Time Salary: Competitive, based on experience About the Role We are seeking a skilled and proactive Health & Safety Consultant with extensive experience in the construction industry, particularly in RC (Reinforced Concrete) frames and high-rise developments. You will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and compliance of complex projects, working collaboratively with site teams to mitigate risks and maintain industry-leading standards. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and manage project-specific health and safety policies, ensuring alignment with current legislation (e.g., CDM 2015). Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and create detailed method statements for RC frame and high-rise activities. Perform regular on-site inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols. Lead investigations into accidents, near misses, and incidents, providing detailed reports and recommendations to prevent recurrence. Deliver health and safety training, inductions, and toolbox talks to site personnel, emphasizing high-risk areas such as working at height, heavy lifting, and formwork. Collaborate with site managers, contractors, and clients to promote a positive safety culture and drive continual improvement. Monitor subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with company and legal safety standards. Keep up-to-date with industry developments, emerging risks, and technological advancements in health and safety. Essential Qualifications & Experience NEBOSH Construction Certificate (essential), ideally Cert / Grad status willing to achieve Chartered Status Demonstrable experience in health and safety management within RC frame and high-rise construction projects. In-depth knowledge of construction safety legislation, including CDM 2015 regulations. Experience with complex site environments, including formwork systems, crane operations, and multi-story developments. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with site teams and stakeholders. Desirable Skills & Attributes Cert / Grad IOSH Experience in implementing ISO 45001 standards. First Aid at Work certification. Proficiency in delivering engaging safety training sessions.
