As part of our growing team, we are seeking two Construction Lawyers to help us continue to deliver the highest quality legal services and add depth and breadth to our busy and dynamic practice.

What the Role Involves

As a key member of the Construction Disputes Team, you will:

Client Advisory : Advise clients on contractual terms, particularly the JCT suite of contracts, providing tailored guidance to meet commercial and practical needs.

Dispute Resolution : Handle disputes involving defective works, payment claims (both interim and final), delay claims (extensions of time, loss and expense, and liquidated damages), and claims against third parties under security arrangements.

Case Management : Manage cases in the High Court and Technology and Construction Court, as well as alternative dispute resolution processes, including mediation and adjudication.

Strategic Problem-Solving : Provide real-time advice during live projects to minimise the risk of disputes and to ensure clients are well-positioned to defend or bring claims if necessary.

Collaboration and Training : Work collaboratively with colleagues and clients to deliver industry updates and legislative training, ensuring clients stay ahead of key developments affecting their businesses.

Experience

advising clients on construction contracts (especially JCT contracts) and handling disputes involving defects, payment claims, delay issues, and liquidated damages.

Desirable Skills : Experience in High Court/Technology and Construction Court cases, and alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation and adjudication.

Specialist Expertise : Familiarity with claims against third parties under security arrangements in the construction context is highly valued.

Core Strengths : Strong written and oral communication skills, the ability to prioritise and manage a busy caseload, and a collaborative, client-focused mindset.
