Discovery Education Centre
in Avonmouth is seeking a dedicated and patient
Construction Teacher
to work with students aged 14–24. You do
not
need a teaching qualification for this role, just basic construction skills and to be able to work with young adults. Key Responsibilities: Teaching:
Deliver engaging lessons and practical sessions for a
Level 1 BTEC in Construction , tailored to meet the individual needs of each student. Individualised Learning Plans (ILPs):
Develop and implement personalised plans to support students' academic and personal growth, adapting teaching strategies as needed. Behavioural Support:
Work patiently with students who may exhibit challenging behaviours, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment. Transporting Students:
On occasion, you may be required to transport one student to the site. The student will be located near your home. Holistic Development:
Encourage the development of life skills, teamwork, and resilience through hands-on learning and practical construction projects. Health and Safety:
Ensure all practical sessions are conducted in line with health and safety regulations. Ideal Candidate Profile: Qualifications:
A relevant teaching qualification or significant industry experience in construction is essential. Experience:
Experience teaching or mentoring students with SEN/SEMH needs is highly desirable. Patience and Adaptability:
A calm and understanding approach to managing challenging behaviour, with the ability to remain flexible and responsive to individual needs. Transport:
A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, as occasional student transport is required. Skills:
Strong organisational skills, the ability to build rapport with students, and a genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential. Why Join Us?
