To assist the lead in the development of regional anaesthesia services according to those agreed in the job plan.
Have the expertise to take lead in decision making about the suitability of high-risk patients.
Have the skills required to manage regional anaesthesia services, ensuring that they are delivered safely and timely, benefiting both patients and the organisation.
Lead in developing and showcasing regional anaesthesia modules in line with the RCoA curriculum.
To provide anaesthetic services according to those agreed in the Job Plan and to take on-going responsibility for patients under your care.
To co-operate with the other (general) consultant anaesthetists to cover for annual, study and professional leave.
To deputise for absent colleagues (such as for sickness leave), as far as is practicable.
To ensure that there are adequate arrangements for hospital staff involved in the care of your patients to be able to contact you when necessary.
To actively engage in planning and delivering developments in the Critical Care Services Directorate for the Trust.
To develop and maintain such special skills and interests appropriate to the agreed overall development of the necessary anaesthesia skills as agreed at job planning and appraisal (Personal Development Plan).
