Consultant in Clinical Oncology in the East Midlands, UK. Locum Clinical Oncologist (for 6 to 12 months, with a view to extend), with interest in CRC, Gynae, Lung, Skin and HPB tumour sites. The area offers the best of both worlds - cosmopolitan city life and stunning countryside. Trust Information Hospitals see more than 4,000 outpatients daily. See more Trauma & Orthopaedic outpatients than any other Trust - over 3,300 per week. An average 860 patients are seen in A&E every day - 6th largest in the country. Hospitals admit more than 220 emergency patients daily. Carry out more planned surgical operations than any other Trust in England with almost 50,000 operations taking place in our 52 operating theatres. One of only 5 Trusts nationally with more than 50 operating theatres. Carry out more than 300 elective procedures each working day. What’s on offer for you? Salary scale between £105,504 and £139,882. Full comprehensive relocation package on offer for a substantive contract. Generously funded study leave is available. Cycle to work scheme. Blue light discounts. Key Responsibilities: Provision of a comprehensive service in Oncology with consultant colleagues, including new patient and follow-up clinics at Derby and Buxton. The Department also undertakes a variety of joint clinics with other specialties. Provision of emergency cover and reciprocal cover for your consultant colleagues during reasonable periods of leave, on a shared basis. This will include care of patients and the supervision of junior doctors. The care of patients in their charge and for the proper functioning of the Department. Undertaking teaching/training duties as required and actively participating in the postgraduate and undergraduate teaching programmes. Participating in clinical and medical audit and actively contributing in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance. Actively participating in continuing medical education (CME). You will contribute to Consultant shifts in SDEC. Requirements to Apply: Substantive Consultant Evidence of entry on GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of attaining CCT at time of interview.
