An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Community Paediatrician, based in beautiful Worcestershire. The post is offered as a substantive role at 10PAs per week though consideration will be given to candidates looking for a more flexible approach. The Community Paediatric Service operates Monday to Friday, predominantly between the hours of 9am to 5pm, there is no on-call commitment with this role.

Main duties of the job The Community Paediatrics team supports children and families across Worcestershire. The post-holder will have responsibility for providing direct paediatric services to patients assigned to him/her and assuring a collaborative approach to treatment planning.

The team also participates in a number of pathways including: Umbrella Pathway for the assessment of autism ADHD assessment and follow up clinics Regular health assessment for children with complex needs including epilepsy IHA for LAC Advisor to the adoption panel Health assessments to support EHCPs Hearing loss aetiology clinic Safeguarding processes

The post holder will provide paediatric leadership to the multidisciplinary team and liaise with other agencies where necessary. Participation in teaching, clinical audit, quality assurance programmes and clinical governance is encouraged.

Person Specification Additional criteria Essential

Eligible to work in the UK Able to meet the travel and health requirements of the job.

Qualifications Essential

MBBS or equivalent medical qualification MRCP, MRCPCH by examination or equivalent Full GMC registration. On the GMC specialist register or within 6 months of CCT or CESR-CP in Paediatrics. Capable to work at Consultant level in Community Child Health. Safeguarding level 3

Experience Essential

Achieved the competencies relating to General Paediatric Training, usually after 2 years of General Professional Training in Paediatrics. Is able to demonstrate having achieved the competencies equivalent to Higher Specialist Paediatric Training including usually 3 years in Community Child Health (usually after 5 years of Higher Specialist Training in total). Previous experience of working in a clinical leadership role with positive relationships with team members. At least 2 years General Professional Training in Paediatrics
