A great opportunity to join the Dermatology team in a substantive Consultant post within the Northern Care Alliance at Salford Royal Hospital. The successful candidate will above all be able to be a productive and cohesive member of the Dermatology team. Continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care. Contributing to undergraduate, post-graduate and continuing medical and multi-professional education activity including teaching as necessary. Participation in clinical audit and research. Conducting appropriate duties in cases of emergencies and unforeseen circumstances. Multidisciplinary teamwork is envisaged as a key component of the working of this Trust and will involve Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) discussion with other colleagues. Development of special interests that fit in with the Directorate needs and the strategic direction of the Trust. Undertaking ward rounds as appropriate. Providing evidence-based care for patients in a multidisciplinary setting. Main duties of the job

Clinical the post holder will provide general dermatology, cancer and paediatric clinics and surgical procedure at Salford Royal Hospital. Management of the existing workload may change during this appointment and this will be reflected within the job plan as necessary. All Consultants affiliated to the centre have admitting rights for elective and non-elective cases where patients remain under their care during the admission. About us

Professional Registration

Registration on the GMC Specialist Register-CCT or within 6 months of obtaining CCT Qualifications

Full registration with the General Medical Council. MRCP or Equivalent Completion of CCT/higher specialist training or equivalent in Dermatology To be formally recognised as a Clinical Supervisor as defined by the GMC Trainer Standards Participation in management training course Participate in an advanced IT training course Higher Degree To be formally recognised as an Educational Supervisor defined by the GMC Trainer Standards Knowledge, Training & Experience

Clinical experience and expertise in dermatology Evidence of continuing personal and professional development Knowledge and appreciation of the core legal, ethical and political issues governing medical practice Experience of recent and current research/relevant publication Skills & Abilities

Good practical clinical skills Proven ability to build and maintain effective teams Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with difficult situations Ability to cope with change Able to manage and lead change internally within a multidisciplinary setting Disclosure and Barring Service Check
