are looking for a

Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist

to join one of our clients at their private hospital. The hospital provides a range of medium and low secure mental health inpatient services, including male, female, and LD+A wards. You will be responsible for managing complex cases, developing care plans and treatments tailored to the individual needs of service users, and providing advice on the effectiveness of evidence-based treatment. Depending on the service user group, you may have a caseload that spans multiple wards, with approximately 15 to 20 inpatients. What you'll do: Be responsible for overall patient treatment plans in conjunction with the MDT. Assess referrals to determine suitability for admission. Undertake appropriate investigations, diagnosis, and treatment. Participate in ward rounds, clinical audits, and quality improvement work. Chair and oversee CPA reviews. Engage in clinical governance and ensure compliance with regulations. Write and oversee various reports, including those for Managers' Hearings and the Mental Health Tribunal, and attend hearings. What we're looking for: GMC Registered. MRCPsych or equivalent. On the specialty register for Forensic Psychiatry or General Psychiatry with forensic experience. Ability to lead and work with multi-disciplinary teams. Good CPD standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists and have had an appraisal within the last year. AC and Section 12(2) approval.
